Our worship of God is a significant part of our community life at Westbury. We believe that we are a family of God, which means that our worship of God is inclusive of people of all ages, ethnicities, and cultures. Diversity is a part of being a community, especially in the family of God. We believe that God wills and calls us to be one body of believers with Christ as the head. Because of this, we strive to do a variety of musical styles in our worship of God each Sunday, which is true to our heritage and traditions as well as today’s context and values. We are blessed to have a variety of wonderfully talented musicians and resources that are a part of our worship gatherings.
Why We Worship
A Place for Worship
The primary reason we meet together is to focus our attention on God, giving Him our worship and receiving His blessing and inspiration. Each of these occasions is a special time of spiritual refreshment. We hope this is what you experience when you visit us at WBC.
A Place of Learning
To us, studying the Bible is vital because it not only instructs us intellectually, but also guides us spiritually. We believe it and accept it as God’s Word to us, a Book that is alive and relevant to life today. Learning its truths is a thrilling adventure.
A Place for Enrichment
For every person at every age level we offer a wealth of opportunities – special programs and ministries for children, youth and adults which fill the church calendar. You can be sure that in this kaleidoscope of activities there’s more than one place where you can be personally enriched.
7:00 pm to 8:30 pm on Wednesday nights
The primary purpose of the Sanctuary Choir is to glorify God through song as we lead worship. The Sanctuary Choir meets each Wednesday from 7:00-8:30 to rehearse and prepare anthems for Sundays.
Any college student or adult (including non-church members) who expresses a desire to join his or her heart and voice with others may join our choir by attending two consecutive Wednesday rehearsals. We meet in the choir room located behind the sanctuary.
The praise team infuses a contemporary style into Sunday morning worship services leading the congregation in new melodies and introducing a new spin on familiar choruses. Praise and worship music and style takes on a variety of flavors and sounds at WBC and we’re grateful for the musicians and leadership the team offers the church each Sunday.
6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday nights
At Westbury Baptist Church, children have a special place in our worship ministry as they learn to praise and worship God through music with their voices, instruments, and drama.
